Alana Levandoski is a member of our community with a powerful voice and a gift for songwriting. She's been giving those gifts back to community for a long while now, and this new lyric video and recording is a timely gift for those working towards truth and reconciliation on this, National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Kenton Jeske's Ceremony is open now at the Alberta Craft Council, with a reception this Saturday, April 22 at . I had a virtual 'sit down' with Kenton, in the midst of minding children and barking dogs, respectively. His hand-made furniture is beautiful and considered–the product of hundreds of hours of care.

I've been blessed with some very good people in my life. Some I can even call friends. Karla Adolphe and Ben Pasley are two such people, and they've been working on a new project for the past several months as Enter The Worship Circle.

I've known Edmonton artist Alexis Marie-Chute for a long, long time. In fact, one of her art-school pieces was the first piece of art my wife and I bought. Like, with actual money.
Since then I've watched Chute tackle nearly every medium as her art has pulled her through some devastating times.

Andrew Myers is an American artist who creates 'paintings' with thousands of screws, inset at various depths, and then handprinted for the final effect.
Myers didn't develop this technique for the blind, but because of his unique portraiture, he was recently able to offer a blind man the first 'look' at a painting of himself. What this touching video of Myers creating this piece, and the subject experiencing it himself for the first time.

Bill's work could be called 'outsider art', but I've been thinking about that genre a lot lately, in light of our own wild and wonderful show, what Bernice sees. When so many people smile at this type of work, who is on the outside? Who draws those lines? Outside of what?
