Kaleido is Coming - Help Us Welcome Visitors!

The Kaleido Family Arts Festival has become a HUGE deal in our city. With tens of thousands of visitors each year, Alberta Avenue is transformed into an arts-wonderland, with the entire neighbourhood becoming a canvas. This year, even local front porches will become temporary arts venues.

This installation showed up right beside our building at last year's festival. Kaleido is full of beautiful surprises!

Bleeding Heart Art Space is right in the 'heart' of the action.

Our gallery is located within the 'Kaleido zone', on a repurposed street with access to thousands of walkers. I cannot wait to throw open our doors and introduce Kaleido visitors to the work of Brandon Atkinson, our first artist of this season.

Brandon's work offers Indigenous stories a visual telling that fuses a tattoo aesthetic with traditional Indigenous elements. His bold lines and monochromatic palate create images that draw us in for a closer look. Our attention is rewarded with numerous details, symbols and storylines.

Can you help us share this work with Kaleido guests

We will be open extra hours during Kaleido;

Friday. September 9: 7-10 PM
Saturday, September 10: 12-6 PM
Sunday, September 11: 12-5 PM

We need 2 volunteers to host in our gallery space for 2 and 3 hour shifts at each of these times. It's a great to meet a lot of people, take in Kaleido (make some time before or after your shift) and work out your smile muscles.
