Last year, I started inviting local artists to run workshops at the Bleeding Heart Art Space. We'd pay them a guarantee and cover some supplies, then we would make a small amount from what our participants paid to take the workshop. It was a simple model and it worked really, really well. Many of those workshops sold out.
But there was a problem. Me. I got busy. On top of everything else I was doing to keep Bleeding Heart alive and kicking, workshops were 'one more good thing', and I couldn't lead them. So we pressed pause until we could find a new Workshops Coordinator. This winter we've found that person in Heather Ritz.
Heather is a vibrant community builder and creative who actually took some of our workshops last year. She's been around Bleeding Heart for a very long time (she helped craft our Manifesto) and I cannot think of a better Workshop Coordinator for our little art space.
Starting this month, on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 PM, we're offering workshops again!
Stephanie Medford will be leading us in Block Printing using the linocut technique. For just $25, you'll walk away with 5 prints on some lovely paper, and a linocut to take home and print to your heart's content (you'll have learned how to do that by the evening's end).
If you are free the evening of Wednesday, March 22 and want to go on a creative adventure with a small group of beautiful people, this is your night. There are just 10 spots (7 left at this writing), so grab yours today with our quick online registration.
Are you an artist who can teach a skill to a small group of 10 people over a single evening? We'd love to pay you $100 to lead a workshop. Email workshops@bleedingheartart.space and let's talk.
