The Maracatù Mudanza Drum Troupe meets on Tuesdays from 7pm-9pm, at Bleeding Heart Art Space, and is open to all. We hope you can join us!
This troupe is led by Rebel Music Academy, and is brought to the community at no charge. Here's how they describe it.
"Maracatú is a traditional Afro-Brazilian drumming style, typical of the North-Eastern state of Pernambuco. It is heavily tied in with the culture and spirituality of the African people that were brought to this region of Brazil. It is characterized by individuals in the group playing various instruments, singing, and producing a thunderous sound."
