Life2 Closing

  • Bleeding Heart Art Space 9132 118 Ave NW Edmonton, AB, T5B 0V1 Canada (map)

Life2 demonstrates that the parolees emerging from Canada’s prison system are not always the same people who entered. Transformation is real, palpable, and through the medium of art, their stories can be told.

The exhibition will consist of five prints from each of the above photographers, totaling thirty-five photographs in all. Accompanying each portrait is a brief text, written by the parolee pictured. These short commentaries discuss the loneliness, the gratitude, the regret, and the learning each parolee experiences upon reflection of their past. Together with photographs, we uncover their stories of painstaking renewal.

Featured Photographers:

  • Kyla Feschuk
  • Tyler Enfield
  • Rob Hislop
  • Bri Voss
  • Patrick Kerby
  • Noel Granado
  • Scott Portingale

Life2 is about second chances. It’s about art, and how it inspires those seeking purpose in their setbacks and struggles. The stories illustrated in these photographs offer hope, showcasing the common ground we all share, and the value of redemption.
