Life2 demonstrates that the parolees emerging from Canada’s prison system are not always the same people who entered. Transformation is real, palpable, and through the medium of art, their stories can be told.
The exhibition will consist of five prints from each of the above photographers, totaling thirty-five photographs in all. Accompanying each portrait is a brief text, written by the parolee pictured. These short commentaries discuss the loneliness, the gratitude, the regret, and the learning each parolee experiences upon reflection of their past. Together with photographs, we uncover their stories of painstaking renewal.
